Chennai
Men prevented by their estranged wives, from visiting their children, or facing other such emotional problems, will now have a helping hand or at least a shoulder to cry on. CRISP (children’s rights initiative for shared parenting), an NGO, dealing with the problems faced by divorced men, launched its Chennai chapter on Thursday.

After launching its third chapter in the country, Kumar Jahgirdar, president, CRISP, said, “Our legal system still considers fathers as being incapable of nurturing children. But in reality, the child needs emotional support from both the parents.” “Divorced fathers should no lot be mere visitors, but should play an active role in bringing up their children. CRISP will fight for the rights of the fathers who are deprived of meeting their children.

It also identifies the child’s woes in the mother’s custody,” he added.
